COME WORSHIP WITH US
“Let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
~Matthew 5:16
Youth & Kid’s Programs
Every Sunday we have classes for Nursery through High School with teachers who love God and young people. We meet in the historic sanctuary and participate in the opening worship with our Pilgrim Family. After a message for our youth, we exit and go to classrooms designed according to the needs of each group. Parents pick up their children from the classroom (younger children) or from Pilgrim Hall (older youth).
All children are part of our Youth Community Fun Days. We have pool parties, Knotts Berry Farm and beach trips, lock-ins, and holiday celebrations such as Christmas Tree Decorating event.
Pilgrim Church holds many events during the year in service to our community including a bi-yearly Rummage sale, Trunk O Treat, Collections of food/supplies for the needy, and participation in outside events like the Kindness Fair and the fundraising walk to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Our youth are a vital part of our efforts.
We are a musical church. Our young people bring their musicality into the sanctuary leading our church in song and/or playing in a musical ensemble. We have a dedicated person who leads music in each classroom. Our goal is to give our youth songs to sing throughout their lives.
We have a historic and deep connection to this beautiful Christian camp in Big Bear, CA. We make sure any young person who wants to go for the week in the Summer gets to go. Our adults participate in their own retreat for half of that same week. Parents of children too young to participate in the youth camp bring their children to the adult camp, creating a mountain play date for young and old alike.
The National Association of Continuing Congregational Church (NACCC) plans a youth mission trip for the youth around the nation each Summer. NAPF is for youth in high school. HOPE is for young adults through age 25. We meet in a different city each year. During our week-long gathering, we learn together, we serve by helping a non-profit organization in the city we are visiting, we play games, and we create life long Christ-centered friendships that continue to impact us throughout our lives. Pilgrim encourages and funds our young people’s participation.
Our Campus:
Our devoted youth campus is upstairs and includes meeting rooms, a game room, and a chapel. It is a perfect place for our occasional all youth lock-ins and relaxed conversation.
Our Youth Library:
We encourage our youth to read by collecting their favorite books in their very own library. When a child reads 10 books, they get their name written on one of the bricks.
